A couple years ago (?) a man in Minnesota ran an ad looking for a wife, then had his friends and family select his bride. His reasoning was that he wanted to get married, and his friends and family knew him well enough to find him the perfect mate. Did they succeed? I just thought of this recently, and was wondering how that turned out. Especially since the “Who wants to marry a millionaire” thing was a bust…
I don’t know if this will help you much, but I recall reading that the two had actually known each other before the got hitched. It wasn’t a long term deal or anything like that, but they did in fact know each other and it made the rounds soon after they wed. The story I recall reading tried to make it sound all conspiracy like, but no one really cared. I mean, who really cares if this guy knew the gal or not?
Then again, maybe it’s bad that they made it out to be more than it really was. I don’t know. All I know is I didn’t give much of a rip about it either way.
Anyrate, the last I heard of the couple, last fall on the local news, they were still happily married.
