Actually, I like Hotwire much better. Instead of having to “guess” the lowest price, Hotwire shows you price it is selling the room at. They don’t tell you at what hotel, but they do tell you the general area, the number of stars, services and amenities, etc.
I’ve used Hotwire many times and have been pretty happy with them.

I’ve used Priceline on hotels (but nothing else) and mostly been pleased with the results (although once I asked for a 4 star in Vegas and got the Sahara - huh?).
I use Hotwire sometimes as well. I love it for rental cars. Not only do I get a pretty good price most of the time, I love to tell people that I Hotwired a rental car for the trip…
