For anything not claimed, please consider donating them to the largest academic library in your area. To them, “obscure” is good, and you’ll get a tax credit.
They’re an hour’s drive away, and most of my obscure books aren’t that obscure as far as they’re concerned, I’m sure. Besides, if I had the time to spare to drive out there, I could hit the used bookstores that would actually buy the stuff.
If your going to release your books, at least have fun with it, and make a game out of it.
Tell you what I’ll do.
Go to booksforsoldiers.com, find a unit that would love to get a box of your books - history, paperback, whatever. Get the APO address, and let them know the books are on their way.

I’ll pay the postage for you. ** I promise. Let me know how much it is, and I’ll send you the money.
Uh, no can do. I looked at their site, printed out their application form and spotted this tidbit
I don’t have a bank account, nor will I be able to get one for some time (thanks to my previous bank screwing me over). If you’ve got any suggestions, I’m open to them.
BTW, Tracy Lord, I have the Running Press edition of the Unabridged Shakespeare.
GorillaMan, I’ve only got one music related book that I can think of, and I’m not sure where it is at the moment.
hawkeyejo, I might still have a historical novel or two kicking around. I’ll have to check.
Do you have Ethel the Aardvark goes Quantity Surveying?
I have room for science books!
No, and no, I don’t have “Rarnaby Budge” by Charles Dikkens with two Ks, the well-known Dutch author, and perhaps to save time I should add that I don’t have “Karnaby Fudge” by Darles Chickens, or “Farmer of Sludge” by Marles Pickens, or even “Stickwick Stapers” by Farles Wickens with four M’s and a silent Q!!! Why don’t you try W. H. Smith’s?
Anything you want to send my way, please do.
My main focuses are any sort of humor, and anything obscurely geeky.
Actually – I came back to this thread to announce I already have this book, I forgot I got it as a gift from a SANDMAN fan over six years ago. So I don’t need it after all.

(As an aside, is that a direct textual quote? I’ve been wondering about that “Farmer of Sludge” title for many years now…I just couldn’t make out what he was actually saying.)
Tuckerfan, tell me about your copy of Five Years to Freedom. Is it the hardcover with photos? I recently ordered that book in paperback and was disappointed to find that virtually all of the illustrations had been omitted.
BTW, Col. Rowe was a friend of my dad’s when I was growing up, and was an occasional dinner guest at our house in Fort Bragg.
Wow. I almost feel guilty for daming you to hell. Almost.
Thanks.
So, how do I get this book from you, Tuckerfan?
Sadly, it’s the paperback version.
UrbanChic, email me your address and how you want the book shipped to you, I’ll figure out the shipping costs, let you know, you snail the money to cover the shipping and I’ll send you the book. Unless, of course, you’ve got an account with FedEx or UPS that you can charge the shipping to.

I already own Extraodrinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, but David’s Toolkit: A Citizen’s Guide to Taking Out Big Brother’s Heavy Weapons sounds interesting.
