My boyfriend can hear just enough to enjoy music somewhat, if it’s played at sufficient volume. Generally he can’t hear the lyrics, however. We know of several friends in the same situation.
If you watch MTV and turn on closed captioning, they often have the lyrics of the songs when they show the video. It’s quite amusing to see the lyrics of some of the hip-hop/rap songs which are impossible to hear.
Television music. Ugh.
