Does Evil Really Exist? I say...nope.

Yes, but I turned around and called he and his wife the same. Alls fair in love and war.
Here’s another one that’s kind of fitting to the situation…Takes one to know one.
He told me to put my faith in God, but in Gods eyes aren’t we supposed to accept one another as we are. Do unto others as we would have done unto ourselves?
He is passing judgement on other people who’s lives are less than perfect…Judge least ye not be judged?
Damn, I haven’t been this Biblical since the last time someone tried to save me.

Nothing more said, if I weren’t stronger than that I wouldn’t have survived around here. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

Evil is in the eye of the beholder. I think my father in law is an ass, but others (until they get to know him) see him as a cranky old war vet who deserves his bitches and complaints.
Some can all another person evil for killing a cat, but they could turn around and call you evil for killing your sick cat instead of nursing it until it died on it’s own.

Evil exists. Or doesn’t. It all depends.

It is just a word in the english language afterall, and so it is very dependent on how you wish to define it. When a rapist rapes, is he committing evil? Is he evil? Obviously, according to the dictionary they are. But if we assume that he is simply following some base impulse hard coded into his biochemistry then all action is neutral. So, this boils down to a faith question.

Obviously, we all have impulses and desires but I also believe that we all have the capability of control. I base this on my studies of self protection. The biggest problem people face when faced with a serious aggressive threat is releasing the controls of civility we put on ourselves to respond to the violence with countervailing violence. This is a bad thing. But this is also a good thing about human nature otherwise I would end up slugging the grocery bag packer when he puts cans of soup on top of my bread or eggs.

We all feel the urge to let go into what we, through consensus, accept as being darker or evil. I don’t think anybody would accept me beating the grocery bag packer to within an inch of his life for crushing my bread. We accept this, through consensus, as being wrong, and hence by definition evil. But certainly when he crushes my bread (again this weekend) the urge to pop him in the nose passes through my head for a moment. It is anger at his willful stupidity for crushing my bread (again) that makes me want vengenance and it is the animal side of me that demands it through violence, but of course such thoughts are gone as fast as they come and I complain to the manager instead (again).
