Presumably Navy Staff would know.
Hey, that was a great scene!
I should give NCIS (and, apparently, Bones - as per the other thread) another shot. Seems I may have been looking at both of them from entirely the wrong perspective. :smack:
I just watched the episode from a last season where Jethro helps the childhood friend of his daughter. Not too bad.
One thing that bugs me about the show is the black and white snapshot thing they do. Stop that!
I loved that scene. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was a bit before my time, but I got the reference.
They’ve also made sly references to Ted Bundy a couple of times - Mark Harmon played him in a TV mini-series.
NCIS does feel like “The Shenanigans of a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits (They Fight Crime!)” sometimes, and the “naval” aspect of a few of the cases really feel shoehorned in.
A recent Law and Order: SVU (I think) episode took what I felt like a minor potshot at the show when a naval officer was involved in something-or-another and NCIS was brought up–of course, that being Law and Order, they didn’t have nice things to say about what NCIS did or didn’t find.
Bwah-hah-hah! It TRIES? You’re too much!
No, it’s a dopey waste of an hour and I’m glad Pax, er, Ion, is rerunning the ones I missed.
“Kind terrorist.” My, but aren’t you the intellectual snob!
That remark of yours reminds me of an old cartoon in which a skywriter–thankfully, the FAA is after him–defaces the sky with “Joe Freen is a lousy son-of-a-bitch.” It’s a remark of the kind made by a hostile drunk about someone he doesn’t happen to like.
I am delighted by the comic element of Abby Sciuto, who, I must point out, knows her work. (Pauley Perrette went to the trouble to get a degree in criminology!)
“Kind terrorist.” Indeed.
I’ve had quite enough of serious cop shows. What crime could writers come up with I haven’t already seen? What is comforting about NCIS is the dynamics of the team/family while they figure out the crime o’ the week.
What’s “fake” about her?
Anyone who’s (rather excellent) punk band did a song about the isolation of Kerguelen Island is alright by me.
