Celine Dion’s got Pinocchio’s nose. Could put an eye out with that thing.
Guin: yes, they were graphic, but when she posed for them, it wasn’t for nationwide publication in Penthouse. IIRC, it wasn’t until after her crowning that someone in Penthouse discovered the photos, bought the rights and printed them. Had she lost the contest, the pictures would probably just be gathering dust in some photographer’s closet.
Forgot to add my main point, which was that while the “posing” part was deliberate, the “for Penthouse” was not.
If you have real artistic talent, posing is not going to make or break you. What will make or break you in the long hall is whether or not you have a real talent in the first place . . .
Marilyn Monroe was killed tragically which I think led a lot to her popularity. That and the fact politicians were involved . . .
"It was scandlous . . . "
On The Anna Nicole Smith show . . . The show is shallow and lacks any real substance and I don’t have to watch it once to tell you. In fact, I have never watched it. But I will be worried if people find it etertaining enough to keep it aired past the “novelty” stage . . .
Monroe didn’t pose for Playboy. That pic predated Playboy by abt.5 yrs.IIRC.These were taken when she was struggling in the late 40s.Her big role that cemented her sex symbol image was Niagara ca.'52,which also predated Playboy by a year or so.
She first entered public consciousness in '50 in the Asphalt Jungle.Playboy had nothing to do with her star quality. It was her wiggle. She didn’t wear a girdle-which was stock for all women then, and it’s said she had one shoeheel lower than the other to enhance the jiggle.
She was a lot bigger than Playboy ever was in the mid fifties, and probly would have loved to have the calendar pictures back (the ones printed in Playboy)
I kinda have to take issue with the “killed tragically” part, myself.
The local newspaper had an entertainment blurb yesterday, I think, that Playboy has upped its offer to Britney Spears to $2 million. The only reason she’s not doing it, according to an unnamed source, is out of respect for her mother.
I apologize for being a prevert (
), but I’d buy that issue.
And I have heard that Britney’s album sales have been in decline…
It’s really only a matter of time. I just hope she doesn’t wait too long. I wouldn’t want her to get old first. Heck, she’s already 20!
What Playboy needs to do is scare up the before and after photos of B. Spears…
She’s already 21, Daddy.
See to me, that’s about the only attraction Playboy has. That they occasionally have photos of someone that I want to see naked. Drew Barrymore as a perfect example. Along with Tiffany. While she’s only so-so compaired to all the other girls in the magazine, I find it great to be able to see someone that I recall from my teen years nakes.
If Grace Jones is a man, and sodomy is a crime-then let me be guilty!
If Grace Jones is not a man- they’re still plenty of sodomy laws we could break together.

The acting, the dialogues, the plots-awful, truly, deeply awful. OTOH the show has hot women in clothes that are very tight, cover almost no skin, or both. It also features guns, kung fu, car chases and explosions.
To sum up-it is the work of a genius and will air forever.
I only hope the show’s creators never use their powers for evil.
My understanding of this was that she was hired by the shows producers, but Kirk Cameron, the show’s star, who also happens to be a very devout Christian, complained about the impact having an ex-Playboy model on the show would make on his image. So he lobbied to get her thrown off the show and was in the end succesful. Apparently as he grew older Cameron’s belief’s became more and more conservative.
Who says you can’t learn anything from watching E!: True Hollywood Story?
With the “We want Britney’s Pics” discussion we’ve seen so far, I’m amazed has no one mentioned the Olsen Twins yet.
I knew I didn’t like him for a reason.
Actually, its because they have disturbingly large heads, and furthermore, IMHO, puberty isnt exactly being kind to them right now, as their collective butts are growing larger than their already oversize craniums.
IIRC, Michelle Pfieffer (sp?) also posed for Playboy. I remember once reading a list of Playboy calander models, and I was shocked at how many names I recognised (I don’t remember actresses’ names very often). Many respectable and successful women. I think it’s probably a pretty good career move.

Not Michelle, but her sister Dedee.
