I am really having a difficult time with this. I’m stuck in one gear and I can’t shift to the next level.

Omnipotence and free will seem to me to be mutually exclusive. I can’t can’t get past the idea that the presence of an all knowing Being ensures that the future exists. If so, then it follows that this future is cast in stone. The only alternative is an array of all possible futures.

But that solves nothing anyway, for God will know which of the futures we choose. And because he knows, in order not to make a liar out of Him, we must choose the course that He knows we will take.

Give it up Wally. Free Will cannot exist whether or not there is a god, and whether or not he is omniscient. The phrase is meaningless.

Well, I always thought that, Coop, but I guess I was looking at this as a “what if” puzzle.
