Does Sanders have appeal beyond white liberals

Nobody remembers him from his days in the balcony on the Muppets?

I don’t get it. Is this a KFC reference?

Anecdotal:

I saw a video from the rally in L.A. where a Republican said he would vote for Bernie Sanders because ‘He’s the only Conservative running this year.’

There’s an organisation called Vets for Bernie. A USMC vet said, ‘Show me politicians who say they “Support the Troops” and I’ll show you a mile-long list of Republicans who have voted to screw us over. Bernie has a 100% rating on voting for veterans. As a lifelong registered Republican, I’m disgusted with the current party. I’ll gladly vote for Bernie over any of those loons.’

Both of these guys are White. I don’t know their level of education. But they’re not Liberals.

It’s possible that black voters remember what things like minimum wage laws were originally intended to do. That is keep blacks from competing with whites by accepting a lower wage.

Can you provide some background on that?

Franklin Roosevelt’s Statement on the National Industrial Recovery Act, June 16, 1933

I’m sure many blacks remember days when the best they could hope to get were starvation wages, and are grateful that the federal government put a stop to that.

You do realize that the NIRA was unconstitutional, right?

Deion Sanders, or Colonel Sanders?

what Johnny LA said

vets for Bernie
and, of course, anyone who knows what the important issues are and where he stands on them!

I think you get my message pretty well. I just didn’t use the term “apathetic voters.” I think of them as party machine voters. And they are not part of the online groundswell around Sanders.

Edit limit expired, I’ll just add that lo-info Dem voters are heavily female - and besides being a woman, Hillary targets women, and does it with simple messages. Sanders I think has women’s issues at heart, but he is poorly positioned for any but educated women to buy in.

It’s overly-simplistic to say that Sanders can’t win because the machine doesn’t support him. The only reason the machine is currently supporting Clinton instead of Sanders is because of the perception that she has a better chance of winning. If that perception shifts, then so will the machine’s support.

According to the reactionary Supreme Court, yes. Too bad the court-packing scheme by FDR didn’t succeed smh.

I’d be surprised if even 1 in 10 black voters have heard of Cornel West, much less base their vote off of his endorsement as opposed to say that of President Obama’s. I mean if Thomas Sowell endorsed (say) Ted Cruz, I doubt people would be saying Cruz has won the black vote as a result.

As a Sanders supporter, I find the contrast between Sanders and Trump’s handling of the hecklers most disfavourable to the former. Moral nilhists who practice terrorist/hostage-taker logic and were not even part of the BLM movement deserve to be ignored and kicked out, not appeased undermining Sanders’s appearance of strength.

The Court was unanimous. And I don’t think anyone considers Justice Brandeis to be a reactionary.

In any case, the Court’s view is the only one that matters; certainly the views of bored teens on the internet can be dismissed with prejudice.

Looking at posts per day he’s slightly less bored than you, buddy.

How exactly does a posters presumed age make their opinions something to be dismissed so readily?

Let’s keep it from becoming personal, please.

You mean like dismissing someone’s opinion because they are merely "a bored teenager "?
