We’ve talked it over. This thread has pretty much run its course anyway and there is no reasonable way to strip out the hijack. So it will remain closed. There will be some modnotes coming but no warnings.
Just in general, you’re allowed to attack the post but not the poster. No matter how much they annoy you. Also baiting other posters is frown upon strongly. Hijacking threads is also frowned upon.
Modnote: In general this post is right up against the line of attacking the poster or more likely over it. Also seems very close to baiting DrDeth. Please do not do this again. This was discussed among the GD mods.
@DrDeth, you contributed heavily to the hijack. Bringing up Chinese Press being controlled pretty early. Comparing riots to mass killing events. That seems to have been fairly obviously not what the OP was about. We did feel when you stay on subject, you made some solid points. Though Og knows I didn’t want to read Yet Another Gun Related Thread. Yagret.
Keep in mind, this is not a warning, but it is a suggestion. Be careful of gun violence threads, they appear to be your trouble area and you’ve been doing very well of late otherwise.
