The western world’s modern forays into Africa have been (rightfully) hung up on regime change and human rights, and China doesn’t share those concerns. I want to be clear that I’m not trying to drum up any “yellow peril” nonsense, but there is a deep philosophical divide and a race for natural resources at stake. In the long view, don’t China’s developments and inroads in Africa put western superpowers at a tactical disadvantage?
