Seriously, I think the advertising concept is based on the old aphorism “I complained that I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.”

Look at him, looking wistfully at the shoes that he can’t wear, and then bitterly away.

Enviously at the viewer, because he knows you have the feet to wear such stylish footwear, and then with grim inquisitiveness, as if to ask “How can you, being are blessed with feet, pass up the opportunity to wear the fine footwear which haunts me so?”

Venal, manipulative bastards, exploiting the disabled like that.

Borns are also amazingly comfortable. Nice and squishy inside, and mine have lasted quite a while.

What country are they based in? To me, ‘børn’ means ‘children.’ Which seems slightly less than incredibly sophisticated. Buy Children’s Shoes!

Born (I don’t know the code for the “O with the slash through it”) is certainly either a Swedish or Norwegian word. OK, it could also possibly be Icelandic or Danish. But it’s one of those, for sure. And I am really pretty sure that it doesn’t mean “children.” (Gawd, I hope I’m not wrong!)

Looks like nothing a shower, haircut and shave wouldn’t fix. That and he really shouldn’t wear such a dark shade of lipstick - it really washes out his complexion.

Comfortable and practical, yes. Stylish… not really. I like mine, but they definately for bumming around.

What I don’t get is why male models all look like that. Who are they trying to attract - other hollow-cheeked, sunken chested, long-haired, painfully pretty boys? When I look at male models, I want to see REAL men, not these artsy-fartsy types. And who (other than male models) is still wearing their hair like that? That look is so mid-90’s.

Um, to answer the OP - he doesn’t look particularly unhealthy to me, but he doesn’t look particularly appealing, either.

I don’t get male models, either. I like “artsy-fartsy” types - I’m not hung up on manly men at all. But guys like this go beyond that - most male models are so feminine looking that I can’t muster up the slightest twinge of attraction. The girlish hair, the dewey-looking makeup - and then paradoxically the lack of shaving. It adds up to something unpleasant.

I have to admit that I think he’s a cutie, but keep in mind that I hang out with fishermen! We get some amazingly hot transient fishermen traveling through here, and that is the normal weird-clothes-haven’t-bathed-been-out-to sea-but-I’m-home-now-honey look they come home with. A hot meal, long shower, fresh clothes, and those boys are yummy!

…my husband needs to come home…
