does this poltergeist story sound familiar? (stuff thrown from the corner of vision)

I heard a weird poltergeist story a few years ago that I’ve wanted to read more about, but I forgot most of the details. the main gist was that it was a typical poltergiest situation - a young teen girl whose presence seemed to provoke all sorts of knocking and unexplained physical disturbance in her house - but the weird twist was that everyone involved in the situation, including the people who came to observe and investigate it, reported having things sort of thrown at them from the corner of their field of vision, but never from their direct line of sight. I think it was something small and weird, like pins or paperclips or coins or something like that, and they had no explanation of where they came from.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I’m sure I’ve bungled some details, but I’d like to read more about the case.

I think I know what you’re talking about. It centered around the teenage girl and there’s actually a photo showing a phone being flung across her lap? I read an article about her not long ago but unfortunately, I can’t remember where I read it. Fortean Times, maybe? I can’t seem to find it now.

I remember that. The case was later found to be a hoax, perpetuated by the teenage girl. I first learned about it from Unsolved Mysteries and then later read about it in a book on poltergeists in general.

Here’s a description of how she was caught by a TV news crew faking the events; they mention only one event which they didn’t have an easy explanation for.

That’s an interesting story, but I’m sure it wasn’t the one that I heard about. Mine was much more subtle, and didn’t attact that much national attention. The thing that was being thrown was very small - paperclips or something lke that - and made a tinkling sound.

That article creeped me out; not because of the supposedly supernatural occurances, but because it reminded me of how much I despise James Randi.

There is no such thing as magic, ghosts, unicorns, fairies, etc. Stop it!
