Does this Univ. President have a case re suing Delta Airlines for not telling him about NY gun laws?

This makes absolutely no sense. Delta flies worldwide – should every agent, in every jurisdiction, know the laws of every other jurisdiction? If you see someone breaking the law, that you are aware of, in your jurisdiction, it is reasonable to contact the police. Whether some other person, in some other jurisdiction, knew of the law and warned you is completely irrelevant, even if the two people happen to work for the same company.

No they’re not. That’s precisely my point. Precisely because it is legal for some people (like pkbites) means that they should mind their own business, especially since the guy had finished his visit to New York and was getting back on the plane. As far as i can tell from the stories i’ve read, the agent who reported him never even asked if he had any paperwork that would allow him to carry the gun, so the agent didn’t even know whether the guy was in violation of the law.

As i said in my first post, i think guy himself is an idiot for not checking the law before he went. I still think he deserves the majority of the blame here.

And that’s why the police were called, since the airline agent isn’t capable of determining that.

But should the airline be financially responsible for the actions of the agent? You say they should “mind their own business” - is not minding your own business an actionable offense? If a storeowner in NYC sees a customer with a concealed weapon, should he ask the customer for their concealed carry permit before calling the police?
