Dogs in a Restaurant/Café

My workplace (a business office) allows dogs, because one day the CEO started bringing his own dog, and now half a dozen people bring the things. It’s pretty hellish whenever I come across one suddenly, and if they’d been around when I applied for the job I would never have taken it. I don’t quit now because it’s a fabulous job - horrible beasts excepted.

If I wasn’t around it’s pretty clear that the beasts would be allowed to roam wildly, going where they like and eating people or whatever they feel inclined to do. Fortunately most of the dog owners here aren’t complete assholes, and after seeing me have heart palpitations a few times elect keep their beasts mostly contained and away from me.

Dogs are cleaner and better behaved than most adults I know and all children. I think stores, restaurants and apartments should allow dogs as a rule, and allow children on a a case by case basis.
