I asked our family dog if she could go on a walk with me after work. She said she didn’t know and that I should check with her administrative assistant. I did so and found out her schedule this afternoon looks like this:
12:00 - 12:30 Snooze
12;30 - 1:00 take a siesta
1:00 - 1:04 bark at birds or squirrels in back yard
1:05 - 1:30 nap
1:30 - 2:00 rest
2:00 - 2:15 think doggy thoughts
2:15 - 2:25 chase tail
2:25 - 3:30 listen to traffic
3:30 - 5:15 get beauty sleep
5:15 - 5:25 caper about in joy. Master is home!
5:25 - 5:30 get let out for bathroom break
5:30 - 6:00 intently watch master make dinner
6:00 - 6:45 stare intently while rest of family eats dinner
6:45 - 6:46 EAT DINNER!!!
6:47 - 7:00 stare intently while dishes are washed and put away
7:00 - ? Sleep
So it appears there are no available time slots remaining the rest of the day. How disappointing.
My dog’s schedule is much the same, with the exception of 3-5 slots for “Act like I have a bathroom emergency so I can go out, come back in , and get a treat”. It would be easier on all of us if he’s just ask for the damn treat straight up.
