I’ve seen big cats in zoos that are fed pumpkins. Apparently, the pumpkin is both toy and food. The cats enjoy rolling them around, clawing and biting them, and then eating them.
Some years back, I was at the local zoo, and a rhino decided to show off his mad soccer skills with a barrel. He got it stuck in a corner between a tree and a wall, but managed to get it unstuck, and the spectators applauded. He would have taken a bow had he been built for it. The local zoo has a lot of enriched habitats, and does things like give the animals toys to play with.
