There are still Carter appointees on the bench? What is he, 110? You may as well be telling me the case will be heard by one of Coolidge’s picks.
Because sleeping on the couch makes his back hurt.
I would think that his well-established reputation as a Judicial invertebrate would lend itself to him easily getting comfortable.
I wonder if this will also shed light on the period between 11 AM and 6PM January 6th where according to records Trump made absolutely no calls. This occurred conveniently between two pages of the call record, suggesting that maybe of few pages of the record were somehow “lost”. If those could be recovered directly from his phone, it might be very interesting.
It’s Karen Henderson, born in 1944. She’s 79 years old, and she was nominated by George H.W. Bush in 1990 to the Court of Appeals.
A newsletter I read, Ballot Access News, when it is talking about a Federal case lists the President who appointed the judge(s). One case two years ago had (Nixon) after his name. I figured he must have been appointed right out of law school.
I see that as a good sign, it’s making the case harder to appeal.
Hopefully the Supreme Court will move quickly.
How’s this make you feel? Giddy?
…and the Trump’s frustration grew three sizes that day…
Well done!
So, does this mean no more gag order? At least until the immunity issue is settled?
No, that holds, as well as the other conditions of his release. It just holds court stuff.
Having once had to e-file a brief by 4 pm December 24, even though the courthouse was closed, I have some sympathies for Trump’s lawyers, given an initial deadline of the 26th.
I would have sympathy if it was you because I suspect you are a good attorney.
I’m not sure ANY profession works TO THE DEADLINE as much as lawyers. The brief that was due on 12/24 - when did you get the briefing order?
My practice has always been in federal court where is is quite unusual for a deadline to be shorter than 10 business days. But I - and I’d guess a huge majority of lawyers - consistently file on the last day permissible. (That is, if they do not request an extension.)
About a week before.
Depending on the record and the issues, plus whatever other matters you have pending, that could be plenty of time or a ridiculously short deadline.
Patent Agents (who are often also lawyers, hmmmm…) are even worse. They have deadlines measured in months to respond to an examiner’s report, and yet, they routinely wait until the very last day.
