Dollhouse 12/11

I remember that now. Man, I forgot all of that. Thanks for refreshing my memory!

Are you ready for your treatment?

There was also a “three months later” text on the screen as part of the transition. Presumably this was when they hatched the plot and Echo worked her way into being a nurse to gain access to the jail.

Right, but having been a nurse doesn’t mean that an emergency room or a prison is suddenly going to let you be a nurse that works on these patients. There is a protocol for that sort of thing. It kind of seemed like, “Well we don’t know how to write this, so lets just not.”

I don’t mind the fast pace, but that in particular ruined my suspension of disbelief. Also, the reason it’s moving so fast is because the show is cancelled.

But Alpha lived, right? I wonder if he’ll get killed before the end of the show.

What suspension of disbelief is necessary? In the three intervening months, she faked herself up an ID (as we know she can do) and applied for and got a job as a nurse, having both fake credentials and actual nursing knowledge.

Then, when it came time for daring prison break, she mildly poisoned the nurse who normally does the prison run so that it would fall to her.

Oh I see what you did there…

and yes.

Beyond this, due to Ballard and Boyd’s cooperation, she probably had access to most of the dollhouse resources anyway…so faking up a set of credentials wouldn’t be as hard.

In Epitaph One:

Echo says Alpha is helping creating the place safe from the mindwipes. Of course, Joss said that all the “memories” can be misleading.

Was there a greater purpose to her saving that woman from prison? Or was it just “let’s see if I can test out my personality-swapping skills so I can be my own A-team and hatch an escape”?

Not a *greater *purpose, just getting Galena out because Echo got her in.

Galena had food stamps, she could have gone to another store IF Echo hadn’t shoplifted and gotten her ito trouble.

Me too. Both seasons have followed the same annoying trend of having non-arc-related problem-of-the-week episodes for the first half*, then blasting into the greater arc for the second half. I had to force myself to watch during the first season, and while it did pay off, I can see why ratings were so low. Such a shame because it averages out to be a great show.

*-I have the same issues with Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, and this past season of Supernatural. I don’t care about whatever random yutz you’re helping out this week! There’s more important shit going on, and I wanna see where that goes!

Is there any place to see Epitaph One without buying a bunch of DVDs?

Just get the individual disk from Netflix?

It’s on itunes with the rest of season 1.

Anyone else find the whole first confrontation with Alpha on the roof to be more than a little ridiculous? They had so many chances to shoot him, and especially right when he threw the detonator, all it would have taken is for one of those guys to pull the trigger and THEN duck and run. Aren’t police/etc trained to shoot immediately upon any sudden movement under those circumstances? Especially considering how dangerous he was. And of course Alpha was more than a little stupid intentionally putting himself in that situation in the first place.

But other than that, a very nice pair of episodes that really is paving the way for Epitaph One. I really would like to see the aftermath of the tech going public, and each episode that comes makes me more and more sad that we’ll never get that third season. Also, I thin Adele has something up her sleeve; no way she really gave the correct blueprints to Rossum…
