Just caught it on DVR yesterday. Again, really liked it - it doesn’t standalone (sorry elelle!) but it was meaty and interesting in its contribution to the longer story arc that appears to be playing out.
The most interesting to me was Sierra simply because she came across as very weak and whiny in her various Active roles, then when we heard her natural voice/accent, coupled with her exotic (to me) looks, she came across as pretty badass, then it turns out that her backstory is to deal with being raped and abused, even while demonstrating strenght after confronting the evil rich guy with a strong No apprently in her past. So her being raped while in the Dollhouse is just another layer on all that - lots of character-specific complexity and TONS to work with in terms of commenting on how people (and in our society, this leans towards women) are used by other people and sex is used to gain power over others. Tough topics - could make for great drama.
But with FOX already messing with it - jeez, we had to wait like 3 - 4 ep’s just to feel like Joss’s work was even apparent in the series - I won’t hold my breath about seeing all this great potential…
