It was pointed out by a YouTuber, then I couldn’t unsee it. It looked like the body part of the suit was a rigid shell, and the sleeves were made of windbreaker material. And the sleeves were weirdly attached. JD’s suit was similar. Maybe this is the new thing, I know nothing about suits.
Could you point it out to us?
Maybe they have a bullet proof vest sewn in.
The fabric appears to be silk. I think the richies like that in warm weather, us poors do warm weather clothing in cotton.

Body armour for civilian clothes is worn under the shirt, nevermind whatever John Wick may have told us (“still quite painful”).
But yeah, nah, I don’t notice anything particularly unusual in the suit. At most he is likely to be wearing an unusually fine fabric thread weight (high so-called “Super” number) and it may have been pressed in a hurry getting some shine on it. The shoulder attachment is something I’ve seen in suits before, it seems to be a tailoring variation. It probably is more noticeable because apparently like his father he prefers a more broad-shouldered than natural fit.
Yeah to me it looks badly tailored? Big shoulder pad that make everything else hang weird. But I’m not exactly a fine clothing gent.
Speaking of, can civilians (in any clothes) buy and wear body armor? I always wondered. I thought it was illegal, but it’s defensive, not offensive. Common sense says it should be legal,
DJT favors a highly padded suit jacket and I have always supposed that his protection must be built into it. It does look like the same system here. What I find odd about this jacket is the extreme drop of the shoulders.
Also, if I close my eyes he sounds an awful lot like Howard Stern. When did that start? I don’t recall noticing it before?
I believe it’s generally legal for most citizens (ie similar/same group that would be able to legally own a gun). I do remember hearing that wearing it while committing a crime can increase the charges/penalty.

And, just quickly looking, I found this for Wisconsin “If a person commits a felony while wearing a bulletproof garment, the maximum term of imprisonment prescribed by law for that crime may be increased by 10 years”
It’s a badly cut suit. At 17:15 when he raises his arm to wave, you can see the arm hole is cut way too low.
Shoulder is way too padded as well. Likely the chest interlining is also too bulky and may not be floating and stitched in place, but is glued.
It would surprise me that he’d buy such a cheaply constructed suit. Perhaps the cloth is a blend of silk and wool at a high thread count. But it doesn’t drape naturally.
The guy’s a buffoon and the son of a buffoon, but at least the suit wasn’t tan.

Once on YouTube I caught commentary that the older Trump seems to have locked in his style on the 1980s “power suit” and just kept getting them wider as he got fatter. It would not surprise me if Junior felt compelled to follow dad’s footsteps on the heavily shoulder-padded fit, but got himself one or more tier lower actual tailoring just to cheap out on it.
The news today is that a Russian oligarch paid for the after-party when DJT Junior got married a few months ago. If he’s too cheap to pay for his own wedding, perhaps no surprise that he’s too cheap to pay for a decent tailor.
