By now, we all know what we think of Donald Trump, and that’s not likely to change.
There’s nothing he can possibly do to convince me he’s not a phony and an all-around asshole, and I’ve been saying as much for a very long time.
So, I KNOW this won’t make anyone think better of him. But I’m pointing it out anyway: Trump calling Hillary Clinton “a nasty woman” was not a sexist remark. “Nasty” is just Trump’s all-purpose adjective for ANYBODY he doesn’t like.
Months before Trump got the GOP nomination, he repeatedly called Ted Cruz “A nasty guy” whom “nobody likes.”
What does he call principled conservative Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore? “A nasty guy.”
When reporter David Farenthold asked Trump pointed questions about his shady charities, what did Trump say? ““You know, you’re a nasty guy. You’re really a nasty guy.”
Hillary’s advisor John Podesta? “A nasty guy.”
Secretary of Defense Bob Gates? Yes, another “Nasty guy. Probably has a problem.”
For a self-styled tough guy, Trump mostly resorts to the blandest, silliest insults. “Nasty” is his favorite. He calls EVERYBODY that.
So, when he calls Hillary, “a nasty woman,” is that stupid? Check. Lame? Check. Pathetic? Check. But sexist? Nope. Not at all.
If you imagine his every utterance (and tweet) coming from a not very bright, ill mannered, 8 year old boy, who is using words that he heard adults use once, it all makes much more sense.
Gosh, you’re right. Complete fabrication on my part. Absolutely NOBODY has tried to turn “nasty woman” into a feminist rallying cry. Nobody at all. I totally made that up.
As a feminist and a woman, there’s nothing I enjoy more than some male trying to tell me that I don’t really know sexism when I hear it. That gets me so hot.
