Donald Trump and the runup to the 2024 election

New campaign strategy. Win over the swifties.

When recently asked about some of Loomer’s statements on X, Trump said he doesn’t know what she posts. This seems to stand in stark contrast to Trump fawning over Loomer in the past where he gushed over her attacking his rivals and telling the crowd, “You wouldn’t want to be Loomered.”

If Trump has any pet bunnies I hope he’s keeping them safe.

MSNBC’s Alex Witt (and a few other online outlets) are reporting that there were shots fired “in the vicinity” of West Palm Beach where the disgraced host of Celebrity Apprentice was golfing.

I’m taking this with an oceanful of salt for now.

If, please God, trump loses, there’ll be a lot of discussion about what was the last straw or death knell to his campaign. Harris entering the race? His awful debate performance against her?

Or will it be his all caps declaration “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Trump’s wife is racing to his side to comfort him.

(Clutches earpiece) Sorry, I’m being told I misspelled “side bitch”.

Has Donnie blamed this on Kamala, Tim, Joe, Hillary, Barak, or Nancy P yet? Or all of them?

Moderating:

Let’s stop with the misogyny for cheap laffs. This comment adds nothing to the discussion, and it’s offensive.

Reggaeton singer Nicky Jam has withdrawn his endorsement of Trump after Trump mistook him for a woman and said “she’s hot”.

Jam looks like this, for the record;

I wonder if he thought Nicky Jam was actually Nikki Haley… or Nancy Pelosi.

It’s too bad that Jam didn’t withdraw his endorsement when Trump called him onto the stage in Las Vegas.

I’m dumbstruck not only at Nicky Jam’s initial endorsement but also his rescinding of that endorsement mostly because who the fuck is Nicky Jams? Never heard of him.

So I guess gender identity does matter!

Yes, of course!

Donald Trump claimed without evidence Monday that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ comments that he is a threat to democracy had inspired the latest apparent attempt on his life, despite his own long history of inflammatory campaign rhetoric and advocacy for jailing or prosecuting his political enemies.

With the election now just 50 days away and early ballots already being mailed out in some places, this year’s presidential campaign was among the most turbulent in American history even before Sunday’s apparent assassination attempt. Trump was safe after the incident in Florida and praised the Secret Service for protecting him but didn’t shy away from blaming his opponents.

“Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” Trump said in comments to Fox News Digital.

In a post on his social media site on Monday, Trump again claimed that he had been the target of politically motivated attacks, writing that the left “has taken politics in our Country to a whole new level of Hatred, Abuse, and Distrust.” He said “it will only get worse” and then veered into comments about immigration, even though there is no evidence the person arrested in connection with the apparent assassination attempt was an immigrant.

And, of course, his adorers will eat this up.

This news has finally motivated me to google Reggaeton. I’ve seen the word a few times, but was always confused. Turns out its a music genre. Electric hip hop and Latin roots.

Returning to the subject of the thread, any idea why Nicky Jam originally endorsed Trump?

From Truth Social:

So he’s attempting to curry favor with black and hispanic voters by telling them that they are only worthy of shit jobs that can be easily taken by mentally ill terrorists and that losing those shit jobs will destroy their heritage and legacy (of working shit jobs)? I’m sure the white folks on TS are so very angry about people of color losing those jobs that are theirs by right. MAGA!

You just know he wants to say “they’re taking white jobs” and doesn’t understand why Kellyanne keeps taking his phone away from him every time he starts tapping it out.

Trump Attacks the Post Office—and Democracy

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is a celebrated Republican party fundraiser who contributed over $1.5 million to Trump’s campaigns in 2016 and 2020. I leave it to others to check if he is again contributing to Trump’s campaign. I hope he has learned better.

P.S. My last link has outdated information and is only included to document that DeJoy has a history of contributing to many GOP campaigns, including those of DJT.

P.P.S. I have no suspicion DeJoy’s politics would impact ballot delivery. None. I just mention his Trumpy history to highlight the absurdity of Trump’s sore-loser-in-advance attack on the Post Office.

I keep seeing this anti-Harris ad (well, twice now tonight), and it doesn’t make a lick of sense to me. I haven’t been able to catch who’s paying for it (it’s not the Trump campaign). The narrator says: “Fifty bucks is too much to lose and not enough to win.” He then goes on to say Harris and Biden are to blame for this, but it’s not clear what he’s blaming them for. Then he says vote no on Harris. And that’s it. That’s the ad. Has anyone else seen this ad, and can anyone explain what the thing is with fifty bucks?

A Trump ad that bugs me is simply footage of Harris stating the fact that immigrants overall commit fewer crimes per capita than native-born residents; Trump then says “she’s dangerous” or some such.

Bizarre. How about footage of Harris saying that one plus one is two? Or that the Pope shits in the woods?

That someone could think that, by showing their opponent stating a simple fact, they could persuade people to vote for them (not the opponent)…this is just Orwellian.

“Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?” For the past 8 years?
