In NC, I’ve been one of the electioneering fools with voters guides (I do the teacher union ones). One time, we had a truck full of camo-wearing gun-toting idiots pull up and glower at people voting. A cop went over and talked to them, and decided they were in the clear. I think they were trying to scare all the libruls away from the polls, but I don’t think it worked.
New polls from The New York Times and Siena College showed Donald J. Trump ahead in Arizona [by 5%] and leading in tight races in Georgia [by 4%] and North Carolina [by 2%]
“In one striking finding, nearly four years after Mr. Trump was impeached by the House for “incitement of insurrection” for his role in the rioting of Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, respondents were evenly divided over the question over whether Mr. Trump or Ms. Harris would do a better job handling democracy.”
“Notably, 12 percent of these voters who said they could still change their mind said their biggest concern about Ms. Harris was around her handling of the economy.”
“Concerns about Mr. Trump’s character loomed largest in North Carolina, where 44 percent of voters who were undecided or said they could still change their mind specifically cited his behavior, including erratic behavior and outlandish comments.”
Just a quick question about Trump’s tweet in post #353:
He typed :“it was great seeing my friends His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, and
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar”
Who spell checked that for Trump?
Who made sure that he got the titles correct? (“His Highness”, and “His Excellency”). Does Trump have an expert on protocol ?
This tweet use correct grammar, correct diplomatic protocol, had no ALL-CAPS, and had only one exclamation point. The content is sane, with no ranting, no lies.
Does Trump now have somebody helping him compose tweets? That would mean somebody who is physically next to him watching his fat thumbs as he types. Seems very un-Trump like.
The president has little sway over the economy, and the Veep essentially zero.
Not to mention the current economy is leaps and bounds better than during trumps 4 years.
My little community is 50/50, and in 2020 I say MAGA and trump signs everywhere. Not this year. My wife says that at her grocery store she does see the hats, however.
Given how important turnout will be, I fervently hope this applies in all of the swing states right up to the election, especially since I’m sure the Democrats will be pouring tremendous efforts into getting voters to the polls, or voting early if they can.
Today, Trump had an event stop at a grocery store in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, where he chatted with supporters. He handed a $100 bill to a customer and promised that “we’ll do that for you from the White House, all right?”
In Illinois, I’m pretty sure tht would be a felony…
