Donald Trump and the runup to the 2024 election

(Approached podium, adjusts microphone, clears throat)

CHICKEN! BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK!

But, Harris is the one who doesn’t do interviews.

More information about the 60 Minutes interview. I get that a lot of younger people won’t watch it, but TV time is Tv time.

He could change his mind <ahem> at the last minute being… you know… himself. And to prove that everyone obeys his whims and commands.

Just dipped into the “Is Trump Confused?” thread, and the latest ramblings and glitches made me wonder if his handlers have pulled him out of the 60 Minutes interview because he’s become so incoherent that even sanewashing won’t prevent the damage?

That seems plausible. They’d have sold it by telling him it’s bound to be a hatchet job, and why should he give them the mega-ratings when he is ahead so bigly? Plus, he’s handsome and dances well.

Changing regulations and making federal land available - hello, oil companies
Mass deportation to ease demand - stop immigrants from taking black apartments

Definitely competing pitches. America decides.

If I can be honest here:

An estimated 1.6 million immigrants work in the construction industry nationwide, comprising 20% of the industry’s total workforce.

Consider this in light of only 3% of the U.S. population being undocumented.

Obviously, to me, if you get rid of 20 percent of your housing work force, you are going to seriously slow down construction while raising prices. As for expelling 3 percent freeing up a lot of housing, first, we are talking about people living in crowded conditions, so it is probably more like 1 percent of housing stock, and it is not the kind of housing average Americans want to live in.

So the Trump policy, putting aside humanitarian concerns, will have the opposite effect from that predicted.

CORRECTION TO LAST POST:

While, per my link, 20 percent of U.S. construction workers are immigrants, the link also suggests that only 40-50 percent of those are undocumented. This does NOT invalidate my point. Mass expulsion would slow down new home construction more than it would free up housing. However, I apologize for implying that all immigrant construction workers are undocumented.

Trump’s future ex-wife says he’s wrong on abortion.

Holy cow! This has got to hurt. From a conservative Christian point of view, Trump is the head of the household as Christ is the head of the church. If Trump can’t control his wife how can he control the country?

They want to mass deport people in the US legally (see Springfield, OH). You can include 100% of those immigrants in your count. Even in the VP debate, JD tried to imply they were here illegally and got mad when they fact checked him on it. They don’t give a shit.

Yep, it will be “Deport them all, and let Mexico sort it out!”

The Haitian immigrants legal status won’t be an impediment for Trump. He’ll remove their protection and then deport them:

Trump wants to send the Haitians “back to Venezuela”.

Venezuela, Puerto Rico, whatever, he won’t care which Mexican country he deports them to! /s

That was my first thought. Upon reflection, I suspect this was intentional, to soften Trump’s anti abortion credentials just enough to win back suburban women.

I agree, totally calculated move.

Young people (and most people in general) WILL watch clips over the next week. So yes, TV time is getting your message out there time.

Trump is going to get a nice infusion of cash from Oklahoma.
