This is why he wanted to run for POTUS in the first place. It’s so messed up that this is the whole reason for everything, stuff like this.
(I mean, now it’s a desperate attempt to avoid prison but originally it was stuff like this.)

Bob Woodward says that, in the early days of the pandemic, Trump secretly sent Putin a bunch of then-rare covid tests for his personal use.
Well, you’ll all be happy that Trump has taken a firm stand against anti-Semitism. It’s a bold move, and I’m sure that the rest of the GOP will be right behind him.
I live in a housing development that’s still under construction, so there are buildings going up all around me. And my reaction to this statistic is: is that all? Looking around me I’d say it’s closer to 100%. When I hear the framers and plumbers and roofers and dry-wall guys talking to each other, it’s all Spanish.
If Trump got his way and all immigrants were deported (and they won’t be fussy about legal vs illegal) construction would screech to an immediate halt.
Funny headline by The Onion… damn I can’t keep up with reality.
All the Nazis understand exactly who he is talking about. This won’t faze them.
miss read.
Hell, I’m not a Nazi or a Jew-hater and I knew exactly who he was talking about.
There goes his entire base!
It won’t even be a matter of documented or not, it’ll be a matter of “brown”; native-born American citizens get deported too for being “immigrants”. Or simply flee with their families to a safer state when they see the latest round of persecution coming.
Because it’s all about racism, not immigration.
Trump’s turning down a debate on Fox. I guess he feels like they haven’t been properly obsequious and given him enough butt-smooches. I’d do it just to make Harris have to either turn it down or take up time preparing, and then turn it down.
The Starlink offer wouldn’t do much good anyway. It won’t help people without power, which is a lot of them.
Dammit, here’s the debate link. That’s what I get for jumping around on sites.
FWIW a lot of folks in WNC have power but no Internet: the cable/phone lines run differently from the power lines in a lot of cases, and are serviced by different companies. I’ve heard from several folks taking the Starlink offer, but I don’t know if they’re aware of all the associated costs.
Trump threatened to deport legal immigrants in Springfield, after all.
This is a city that provided a home for refugees who needed it, and in turn has been revived by having workers they desperately needed to revitalize their manufacturing industry. It’s a beautiful example of a win-win, and it’s only a problem for racists, so of course Trump and his party are going to try to stop all of that.
If you ever need to explain to anyone how dangerous Trump and the Republican Party are, just explain what happened in Springfield, and tell them that it’s just one example of what they are doing all over the country.
Here’s a gift link to an excellent (but lengthy) article in The Atlantic by Tom Nichols comparing George Washington to Trump.
Trump on Truth Social regarding the 60 Minutes Harris interview “scandal”*:
I think the networks need to stop trying to appease Trump and start being honest about who he is. Surely the CEOs realize that If he is elected, he will appoint someone to the FCC for the sole purpose of hurting them. “Licenses…should be bid out to the highest bidder”. I wonder who that would be?
*The “scandal” is that it appears that Harris gave two different answers to two questions.
There was some sloppy editing between the two shows but her answers were not changed in any way.

Point of order: there is no “license” CBS requires or has that can be revoked. Broadcast licenses are held by individual TV stations, not the network, and their being granted or rescinded has fuck-all to do with the political bent of their news division.
Trump occasionally goes after Fox News when they’re not kissing his ass tenderly enough. I am constantly amazed that anyone is loyal to Trump given his propensity to throw his allies under the bus at the first sign of trouble or insult them or their families publically. But it’s even more amazing to me that any organization, like CBS or ABC, who has no love for Trump or any reason to treat him with respect seem so afraid of crossing him.
Gah. I should have known Trump was blathering there. Bad me. But there are myriad ways he could hurt them.
