I recall that. But he’s not running for anything now. And I doubt many people are asking for his insight. I thought there might have been something specific that prompted this. Maybe sense of duty. Who knows.
I guess just looking for some attention. Christie has absolutely no credibility. He worked for Trump in 2020 after he saw what a disaster he was. Even after he ended up in the ICU with covid because of it. He is just desperate to get some sort of relevance.
I actually do believe he hates Trump. Not for any noble reason, just personal hatred. Attorney General Christie would go after Trump like a pit bull (not that I think he should be given the job, of course.)
I thought he did a good job as US attorney. As a governor what he did to my pension and healthcare is costing me thousands per year. So you can guess how I feel about him.
He never laughs joyfully, as if he’s responding to something he finds funny. But he frequently laughs at people. He only seems to laugh only when it’s at someone’s expense; it’s something malicious. He doesn’t seem to have a genuine sense of humor of any kind.
This is an observation that has come up in many threads on this board, and I’ve seen that opinion expressed in the media as well.
That was one of the points that an English writer, Nate Wright, made in a piece about Trump back in 2019, answering a question on Quora about why some British people do not like Trump:
So what is Trump doing to try to turn the election contest back on his favor?
I was made aware of this tactic from Ari Melber on MSNBC. And I recognized a number of the influencers that Trump is working with solely from videos I watch that conduct online scam investigations. These MAGA bros are criminals, no wonder they love Trump.
Note that at least some of these appearances are on the platform “Kick”, because the influencers have been banned from more mainstream platforms like Twitch for spreading hatred and other conduct violations.
And a follow-up to Trump’s comment that Musk fires striking employees:
Shoot your mouth off, say something that is the worst possible red flag to a group you’re trying to attract; good politics!
I think that Trump has probably said that sort of thing before, but more likely in the clubhouse bar, having drinks with other business fat cats after a round of golf. Not when you’re campaigning for public office and need to woo union voters.
Yes, it’s O’Brien of Teamsters who is saying that the union’s endorsement is up for grabs, that the Teamsters might endorse Trump. Given the record of the Teamsters, I would say its grift calling to grift. O’Brien’s been attracting a lot of criticism within the Teamsters and the union movement for his flirtation with Trump.
However, O’Brien has been forced to condemn Trump’s latest comment, as mentioned in the article I quoted.
Adding to the issue is that the National Black Caucus of the Teamsters has endorsed Harris. I would think that makes an endorsement for Trump from the union as a whole very problematic, opening up an ugly race-based crevasse within the Teamsters.
British non-profit journalism group does a sting of one of the main figures in Project 2025; gets him on camera for two hours discussing how they are planning to completely revamp the government if Trump wins.
