Apparently, Kelly announced today that she is taking a curiously timed, previously unmentioned, two week vacation.
I heard some talking head on MSNBC this morning saying that what we’re seeing with Trump is a lot of support at a time when people don’t need to be invested in the process much. Makes sense to me. We’re months away from anyone pulling a lever in a voting booth or doing whatever people do at caucuses.

The numero uno, number one, top of the pants on fire list would be the oft repeated claim that Trump was referring to Kelly’s menstrual cycle. Trump never said that. When asked to clarify his statement, Trump explained what he meant. Of course, that wasn’t good enough for those media outlets and internet pundits who continued to promote the menstrual lie. Repeatedly. Over and over. Again and again. Ad nauseam.
To some people, it doesn’t matter what Trump, or any politician, athlete, cop, member, poster, has to say, the un-illuminati insist that they know better what someone else is thinking, or meant to say. Proof means nothing, facts mean nothing. Fantasy rules the day.

This is silly. The LSM (sic) has widely reported the actual words that Trump said, as well as the widely-understood interpretation that he was referring to her menstrual cycle, as well as Trump’s denials thereof. Here is a sample CNN article: Megyn Kelly: I didn't 'attack' Trump at the GOP debate. I have never seen a non-opinion article from mainstream news sources that stated categorically that Trump meant menstruation. Can you cite one?

I agree that in a vacuum “blood coming out of her whatever” could plausibly refer to other body parts. In reality, the Trump campaign first refused to apologize and came out with the “nose” explanation a day later, which suggests that he probably meant vagina.
I know. Because after “eyes”, the next body part anyone reasonable can think of can only be “vagina”.
None of this is nearly as interesting as the result. To my weary eye, Fox was looking to sink Trump with his own mouth, and this must have looked like solid gold to them, Trump dissing apple dumpling Megyn Kelly. Kinda missed the point, far as I see, the real takeaway should have been the crowd’s reaction when Trump wiped his butt with political correctness. With that, all sins forgiven, that is what they came to hear.
And that is why Fox comes crawling back to Trump…
