Point of order. Neo-Nazis. Only counts half a point.
Look Harborwolf, I can’t make myself more clear: I’m not saying Starving Artist is an idiot. Heavens to Betsy no!
I’m just saying that hardworking Joe Sixpack out there might stumble on this thread and only read a page or a few comments and might have some questions raised in his mind that Starving Artist has some sort of undiagnosed mental problem. And can we really blame him for that? Sure there’s evidence against this, but why should we assume Joe will sprint to SA’s posting history to refute these heinous claims.
Just because Joe heard you call Starving Artist an idiot and continues to believe that SA is devoid of most of his mental faculties despite the mountains of evidence to the contrary due to CSI:Miami being on is a legitimate position. They’re getting really close to finding out who killed the Mayor’s daughter and we shouldn’t expect Joe to interrupt his viewing to confirm that SA is not in fact bouncing off rubber walls.
Dismissing all of the birther arguments clearly and simply. Sorry no link, I’ll have to remind myself how to do that again soon if I’m going to be hanging around the Board…
Trump now claims that he has information that Obama’s BC is actually missing, and not in Hawaii like Obama claims. When asked how he knew that, he said his source told him. When asked to name that source, he stated he’d rather not.
And this moron wants to run for president?
Just cut and past the line. The board software does the rest.
Thank you.
No - he wants you to watch him on TV.
From the I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-an-Onion-headline department.
Wow, Shepard Smith actually comes out and says:
“Fox News Can Confirm That The President Of The United States Is A Citizen Of the United States, Period”
http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201104250034
I wonder if he will be fired?
No - I think the Powers That Be have figured out that birtherism is going to bite them on the ass in the general election.
He’s full of shit AND sticks to his guns.
Presidential material, all right.
Tinfoil hat time:
Trump was a trial balloon. He pushed the birther issue aggressively to see how people would react to it. There’s been some favorable response, but overwhelmingly it’s been “Are you shitting me?” So since it’s not flying with a non-serious candidate, they know to tone it back when the real candidates start campaigning.
Oh, God, the comments…
Why did I read the comments?!
No, Smith has made these kind of statements before, and even Bill O’Reilly has been pretty good at unequivocally and repeatedly calling out the Birther stuff as bullshit. I don’t know about Hannity or Beck or Fox and Friends, but Fox’s biggest heavyweight has completely rejected the Birther shit, so it must not be on the memo to keep it going. To be sure, I think that a lot of them don’t try very hard to resist it, though.
I would buy that, if we were talking about anyone but Trump. Donald Trump is many things, a con-man, a buffoon, an ass, but he is not a pawn.
It could be he derived some benefit, maybe even as simple as just keeping his name in the news. “You get me air time and I’ll have fun with this thing,” or something.
Maybe not by design, but I think he could be working out that way by function. The fact that Bachmann has recently ceded the birther issue is probably an indicator of how it’s really polling as anything to push for national election.
Shep Smith is one of the relatively saner Fox News people. He’s one of the few people on there who can legitimately lay claim to the title “journalist”, IMHO.
Yeah, he used to poke fun at Beck when he first stated there. Smith was laughing out loud at some of Beck’s antics.
