If it is the cocaine issue, I hope Obama addresses it by saying “I wrote about that in my book.” This will send all the Tea Party types either to the book store to read it for free, or they will actually purchase the book. A win either way.

Although Allred’s bombshell on Romney does appear to be linked to a divorce case, I seriously doubt Romney was “the other man.” It’s reported that Allred’s client is the ex-wife of a friend and current supporter of Romney’s.

All the sources out there point to some documentation that B&MO were contemplating divorce. I thought this was even more douchey than Trump usually goes, and was hoping he wouldn’t do this. But now I actually hope he does.
If they considered divorce years ago, whether it was because of stress from the lack of balance in their lives, or something more salacious like an affair, who gives a shit? Only the most right-leaning hypocrites would even consider this an issue, and guess what? They’re not voting for O anyway.
It would, however, point out what a hateful, vile human being Trump is. While I like his show, I would stop watching it over the dickitude that this would demonstrate. And I think a lot of Americans would do the same. The Obamas have two young daughters - it’s despicable to pull them into this. Note the difference between the Obama kids and say, the Palin offspring, who never met a camera they didn’t like. I don’t even know what they look or sound like, as I never see them!
I think there would also be a backlash and a reexamination of the right’s obsession with family values, especially when a serial divorcer like Trump is delivering the news. So if anything, I see it potentially giving a sympathy bump to Obama, riling up the Democratic base, and having no effect whatsoever on swing voters. Romney is going to have to spend time distancing himself from this whole ugly mess as well.
I suspect Trump will announce that the TPTB have asked him not to make the announcement, but he’ll bloviate about how this “thing” shows a lack of character, we should be worried about this guy leading the country, etc. and just leave everyone hanging.
I just saw the ESPN 30 by 30 documentary about the USFL, and how in essence it had a chance to coexist with the NFL until Trump came along and shit all over everything, essentially driving the league off a cliff and destroying it. That’s kind of how he rolls, and this is yet another example of his dickishness. So bring it, you carcass-coifed asshole.

That is certainly a scandal that could hurt Obama’s campaign.
Whatever it is, I guess it already worked: people are talking about Trump and speculating idly about bad or dirty stuff regarding Obama. Mission accomplished, watch The Apprentice.
If it’s the divorce thing, unless there are really damaging reasons involved (abuse, adultery), it can only make Obama more sympathetic.

It looks like Allred’s news is out. Romney allegedly testified that Staples was worth less than it actually was so that the founder’s wife would get screwed in the divorce.
Reports are that Romney was called to testify as a witness, regarding the value of some stock which was to be divided as part of the settlement.
I pretty much agree with this.
I would guess the Romney people would try to lean on Trump to refrain, but with a self-promoting bozo like that I don’t know how much leverage they would have.
