Wow, Trump went back to the birther thing this late in the game? I guess he’s worried about his ratings or something.
I find myself thinking that this is the kind of thing Romney would do because I already think he’s a dick who would do a legal but ethically dubious favor for a powerful friend. So I don’t care. The one thing this arguably does do is take attention away from the actual candidates, running the clock down for Romney just a little bit by making him compete with Trump for airtime or field questions about him. That’s not good for Romney.
Having read the article more carefully, I find it even more dismissable than I originally did. It goes to great lengths to play the “guilt by association” card, painting the other guy as a major sleazeball. (They don’t cite any sources to back up those claims either, BTW.) The idea is that his bad divorce should somehow reflect on Romney.
The only thing Romney himself did (even according to the article) is to testify that he thought Staples was overvalued, and that he didn’t put much faith in the company’s forecasts. I happen to think that Tesla Motors is grossly overvalued, and I don’t put much faith in their forecasts. Does that automatically make me a liar?
Incidentally, Romney selling his shares in Staples was exactly the right thing to do. If you own a stock that you think is overvalued, you sell it and get the hell out before the price drops back to what it should be. Holding the stock would be foolish, unless you expect it to become even more overvalued in the future.
Because obviously, if Obama doesn’t immediately jump at this chance, then THAT MEANS HE HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE!!! And the American people should know that, and vote against the man who is obviously hiding his affirmative action benefits and Kenyan birth.
Still, who expects that kind of dog whistle to play outside the loyalists who’re already voting against Obama? (This is why I’m not 100% sure that his performance in the first debate would’ve made a huge difference even if he did do great - Romney alone would’ve excited anti-Obamaites anyway.)
Well, I’d jump at the chance to earn 5 million for charity. They can release my college transcripts today if Trump has that check signed.
Why wouldn’t Obama do the same? Does anyone care that he made a C on some class? He obviously maintained a overall GPA to graduate. Make 5 million for a charity Obama. Release those records.
Yeah. No. the records have been fact checked to death, and it won’t stop this crazy haircut from finding something else. In the youtube the records had to be to Trump’s satisfaction. If the long form birth certificate isn’t to his satisfaction, nothing is. Not only that treating POTUS like he’s Gary Bussey from the Apprentice is beyond the pale.
Don’t forget they have to be complete, and Trump himself decides if they are to his satisfaction. Why would the president want to play that kind of game with this nutball?
But Obama has already spent $7.5 kajillion suppressing those records! No way in hell he is going to let them go for $5 million. Trump knew that when he made this offer.
