No it’s embarrassing to perform like a trained circus monkey when money is waved in front of you. “Here’s 5 million dollars, now dance to my tune!” Of course Obama is going to turn it down. And Trump is a jackass for making such an offer.

No, he can’t. It started when he released his own records voluntarily and is based on bullshit. The problem is not disclosure or openness; the problem is that Obama is president. The rest is window dressing.

Obama hasn’t dragged his feet, and it’s clear nothing he could do would satisfy Trump and company. Trump even inserted a caveat- “to my satisfaction”- to get him out of his “promise” even if Obama were to release it. Trump can (and would) say that the docs are fake- yet another distraction to the campaign. Obama knows this (everyone should know this)- so the only thing releasing the docs would do is give more publicity to Trump.
I wonder if Trump was actually hoping to announce something else, but found out it was BS, so he made this offer to cover up for not having anything else to announce.
This makes no sense at all, but we ARE talking about Trump. I was hoping he would announce that his hairpiece was running in 2016.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he had intended to talk about something like the divorce rumors but decided (or got leaned on) that it would backfire and benefit Obama.
Perhaps he could, perhaps not, at least as far as his grades are concerned. I lean to “not.”* But as others have said, it is imminently clear that the birther story will never go away. What is a surety is that FOX News and their ilk would be all over this story until election day if Obama acceded to Trump’s request, trotting out again and again that the president of the United States was brought to heel. As others have said, the appropriate response to this nonsense, is nothing.

IMO, it’s a mistake to react to a clown offer of this sort even if was about a legitimate issue, which it’s obviously not.
Even 4 years ago the rumors were there, and Obama said at the time his marriage was “tested” early on. Turns out, like any couple they weather the storms. Must be crappy to have a President who actually works at his marriage and his family. It just completely pisses off workaholics that he insists on family dinner and date nights. So yeah, if bad Haircut had anything it probably didn’t pass the smell test.
It’s not like the public at large is clamoring for Obama’s grades. A few Republicans are demanding he release them to disprove their opinion that he benefited in some way - admission to Harvard or honors there - because of affirmative action. He graduated with honors, and even if his grades are outstanding, they’re likely to stick to their guns. Since this is costing him no votes and the few people who say they care won’t be convinced by the evidence anyway, there’s no point in playing this game. And I am not one to care about this kind of thing, but I have to agree that responding to something like this is beneath Obama’s office. It’d look really undignified for the president to start releasing records on a dare.
