donating blood

How often can a person donate blood safely? Also, how often can a person donate plasma safely? Please only answer if you are 100% sure. Thank you for your time!

In the USA, the rules state that you can donate whole blood every 56 days (8 weeks). You can donate plasma (or plasma products, like platelets) every 3 days.

There is also an upper limit to how many total donations you can make in a year, but I don’t recall it.

According to the American Red Cross:

I couldn’t find anything on the American Red Cross’s site on donating plasma, plasma products or any upper limit on the number of donations in a year.
