I plead possibly guilty on the self destruction of brain cells. Being a humble, self deprecating kind of guy, I have been known to tell those questioning my cognitive powers that I used to have hair and I used to have brain cells, but I seem to have fewer of both these days. But I have taken a Darwinian approach – the brain cells I have left are really kick ass, super duper brain cells. And they actually revel in a good soaking in alcohol.

Or it indicates a certain, shall we say, lack of strict logical rigor in your own thinking processes. As you have been told repeatedly, the cop’s “motivation” may have had absolutely zero to do with handicaps or with parking. And he was under zero obligation to reveal it to you, hence the acceptability of a lie.
