Has anyone else seen this picture book? It’s by a guy named Mo Willems, and it is just adorable (not in a “glurgy” way either). It put a smile on my face all day. “Vroom-vroom vroomy vroom-vroom” “I have dreams, you know!”
I teach 5/6 English in Oregon.
I’m in a book group of mostly librarians…and this book was on our list.
I really, really enjoyed this book.
I don’t remember exactly what our book group said. Most really liked it. I remember commenting on the 1950s(?) style of drawing.
It’s a cute book. My students like it, and, apparently, 1st and 2nd graders LOVE to yell, “NO” to the pigeon.
Me and my students? We would have handed the keys over to him before he finished asking
Your mom would let me.
How about we play “Let’s Drive the Bus”. I’ll start.
I just read this book last night! I love it!!! (I may have some of the lines slightly off, but the book’s in my the nursery with my sleeping daughter, and I’m not going in for it!)
On the subject of birds: How about Duck in “Click Clack Moo” and “Giggle Giggle Quack”? He’s a duck after the pigeon’s heart.
::looks at own location line:: Yes I read too many children’s books…
This guy? The creator of “Sheep in the Big City”! Now I’m interested.
