Why do our folks teach us this absurd notion of safety?
I have no idea… some of the best candy I have received has been from the strangest people I’ve met. PCW occasionally sends me chocolate from her neck of the words… Enuff said?

The stated rationale is that someone who is up to no good will try to lure a young child into his car or home, or otherwise within snatching distance, with a promise of candy. Supposedly other good ways to get a child close to a car is to say that he needs help looking for a lost kitten or puppy, or that mommy or daddy is hurt and has sent him to pick up the child.
At least, these are the things I have been told.
