That goat can describe thebest person or the worst?
[sup]What’s weird/funny/ironic to you?[/sup]
I think it’s funny that “Ultimate” always meant last (hence “penultimate” to denote “second-last”), but that somehow it morphed into “Awesome”.
I do laugh every time I see a BMW ad: *“BMW. The Ultimate Driving Machine.” *
I always do a voice-over: “Yes, with our shoddy safety inspections, it’ll be the last car you ever drive”.
The word “enormity” used to mean just “great evil or wickedness”, but Merriam-Webster says that it has a second meaning of “great size”.
I’d say it’s ironic that North Korea’s leader is well known for the enormity of his threats.
I find it funny that when two planes come near to each other/just miss colliding, it’s called a “Near Miss”.
No…it’s a complete miss.
My thinking in where this term came from is that the incident between the two planes was described somewhere, officially as “near, miss” and the comma was dropped in subsequent uses of the phrase.
