Tell me about your blog. I’m considering starting one, but believe nobody would actually read it. An obvious basic ?: are there sites that host blogs that you recommend?
Try Wordpress.com: simple, effective and with plenty of features.
I started on Blogger (AKA Blogspot), decided that is sucked, and moved to Wordpress. I’ve been very happy there.
My biggest complaint with Blogspot was that there was no way to see usage, and it only natively supports RSS feeds. It took a bunch of work to set it up to mail people with updates. The commenting system was pretty fracked as well.

I’ve been using Google’s Blogspot since 2005. I used to like it but now since I took last summer off from blogging things have changed. It won’t let me upload videos or copy and paste links or anything. I don’t know why and that really bugs me.

I’ll second Wordpress. I use it on my own domain. The ease of operating a nice blog these days is quite amazing compared to what it was like 10 years ago.
You’d be surprised who will read it. Just make sure you list in on the major search engines and have each post tagged appropriately.
