The TV guide says “Denver: South Canosa Court”–is this the right episode?
Yes that is the right episode. Do you have cable or Sattelite?
Checks yanceylebeef’s location… :smack:
Okay, I’ll check it out!
I’m watching it now…
I just saw Doug (and I assume your Mrs.) with a pink wig on…
Your wife is so pretty and outgoing!
You guys are awesome! You look so comfortable on camera. Did you have fun?
Have you gotten your brad nailer yet?
Very cool! You guys did a great job on camera - it looked like you all had way more fun than the average Trading Spaces householders. I hadn’t seen the new version of the show before, but I think axing the host gives it a much nicer pace, and I like how you got to see your rooms by yourselves first instead of having to interact with a perky person when you’re just trying to see everything that was done.
You look like such a fun couple!
And the makeovers were really nice. I don’t usually watch Trading Spaces, so I was surprised at how nice everything looked at the end. And I liked the follow-up too where they showed you all using the stuff in your own way–it made it seem more real. . . less staged.
I was actually able to stay awake thru the episode. That’s not an editorial comment - I usually fall asleep by 9 and it didn’t even start till 10! But it was a good show - I didn’t cuss at Doug even once!!
Oh, and we have a brad nailer, and a framing nailer,
and a compressor,
but we don’t have coconut monkeys.
I really loved the red upholstery on the couch, but all the mirrored stuff in the other house not so much. And I thought the best thing in the whole show was the big portrait - that was faberrific!
Thanks for inviting us into your home and sharing your monkey jungle!
Wow, they’ve really changed the format since I’ve watched it.
I like the new pace. I like how they break down the cost of materials, too.
Didn’t Leslie Segrette used to be the sewer or assistant on While You Were Out? I know she was on that one, but not as a designer.
I love the coconut monkeys!
You guys looked like you were really having fun. You’re a really cute couple!
How much sleep did you get? Did you ask the designer for anything specific, and did you get it?
How was Doug to work with? He always seemed like a self-centered jerk.
Your wife is just the most adorable thing EVAR! (Congratulations, by the way, on being not-so-newlyweds.) Most of the time when a participant happens to be a performer (actor, singer, etc.) IRL, they can be awfully obnoxious trying to upstage the Trading Spaces folks, but you all were just so natural and fun (and funny!).
But it’s still so weird seeing a Doper walking and talking! In my head, you used to be sort of a dark, broody 50 year old scotch drinker with a 5:00 shadow and a Private Dick narration following you around. Time for rewrites!
Great job, yanceylebeef! You and your wife looked like you were having a great time. Loved the “acceptance speech” for the nail gun–did you get to keep it after all?
It’s been a while since I last saw Trading Spaces, and I had to say that it seems much better without the host. Watching you two discover your new room without the drama of the covered eyes and whatnot was like watching two kids on Christmas morning. Then a two-week-later follow-up is a good addition too, and it was nice to see you two enjoying the room. Good job!
You guys looked like you had a ton of fun. Mrs. Jim particularly loved your performance. After she stopped giggling about saying ‘caulk gun on TV’, she said “Yup. He’s a doper.”
High praise indeed
Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for inviting us to share.
It looks like you had fun and I enjoyed the “acceptance speech” as well.
Your wife is hoot! I loved her attitude and her sense of fun.
So, how tired were you? Did you go home and sleep for 12 hours after all the fuss was over? Did Doug actually do some of the work?
Doug didn’t seem all too bad on this show. At least I didn’t notice any melt downs or really snarky remarks. Of course, I’m well aware we don’t see everything that happens.
I must say that I thought his “craptastic” comment re: your neighbor’s room was mean. There could have been a much nicer way of saying what he did.
I thought Doug seemed like he was nicer than he used to be, and his room was actually pretty nice. He seemed to actually care about the final look of the room. (Though the ‘craptastic’ thing was a little mean.) It looks like someone has reined him in.
When I quit watching regularly, it was when he and Hildi were going all diva-ish, and just doing shit for the shock value. I think one of the last shows I watched was when Hildi hot-glued cardboard all over the walls of a bedroom, calling it a fabulous walllcovering. IIRC, it was peeling off at the reveal.
I saw you had a Sedro Woolley T-shirt on–are you a Washingtonian at heart?
You seemed like you were having fun. You Mods and your scooters.
My husband and I giggled at the caulk gun incident; since it was Doug, we felt you should have told him, “I never touch another man’s caulk…gun.”
Yeah, you and your wife are both naturals (your neighbours seem like a lot of fun, too). Now tell us the truth - did you really, truly love your new room? Did your neighbours?
Hey everybody…sorry for the lack of posts on this thread. We just spent three days trying to get back from Ft. worth to Denver. Stupid blizzards.
Anyhoo, I am heading to the soft caress of my bed. When I wake from my short course in death, I’ll answer all questions. Well, at least questions about the show.
Happy New Year!
yancey
has any of your neighbors bombarded you and your friends to come in and see?? Mr. badkitty and I when we were first married lived down that- a -way on S. Sunset. I would love for Frank to come and re-vamp my house!
