Dopers on Trading Spaces

We slept hard after it was all said and done. Turns out the waiting IS the hardest part. We would do just enough work to get the shot, and then the PA’s would take over. Doug didn’t do much except sleep. we sat around alot, waiting to shot the next scene. It wasn’t as organic as I thought it would be. There was only one camera per house for the majority of the shoot.

I grew up in Woolley. Well, I went to high school in Woolley. I am a product of Sedro Wooley higher Education. Graduated Summa Cum Logger.

Yep. Michelle and Jeanette were both agog over him. And he is actually as nice as he appears.

Leslie was also very sweet. Doug was just Doug. When we were setting up the room for the reveal, a couple of the larger candles were missing. Full blown Diva meltdown from Douggie. Lots of ranting about personal responsibility and people being careless and lack of professionalism. It was quite a sight to behold.

If any dopers are in the Denver Area, we are going to have a screening at The Bug theater in the Highlands(37th and Navajo). My wife hosts an open mic night there called Freak Train, and they are letting us use the space. It will be Sunday night at 6:30.

It’ll be a hoot!

Now that Doug and Andrew Dan Jumbo are on the same show, I might start watching it regularly to see if Andrew ever smacks Doug down. THAT I’d pay money to see.

Yeah, Michelle didn’t look absolutely thrilled about her house. “Coke-den mirrors” indeed - who has decorated with mirrors like that since the seventies?

Ha, ha. My husband is a Montesano boy and I was a teenager in Shelton. Probably none of us got an education worth a damn in our respective logging towns.

Forgot to add, if you want to read my friend Michelle’s account of the taping and reveal, here is a link to an article she wrote for Westword.

Ha ha ha! So true.

I actually thought the best part of Michelle’s room was the portrait - it turned out beautifully. I can fully understand not wanting to feature a large picture of you in your pasties in your living room, however.

I’m sure she could auction it off for a pretty penny, however! It is hawt.

Wait, so you DON’T do all the work? How many PA’s are there? No wonder they can get it done in two days, the lying bastards! I feel so much more secure in my inadequacy now! What about the homework, did you at least have to stay up all night huffing paint fumes?

And what kind of paint do they use that dries in like 13 minutes, anyway?

And where do you sleep? Do you crash in your neighbor’s bed, 'cause that might be a deal breaker for me right there.

OMG!!! I am so sorry to hear about your friends place! I guess I will never go on the show! Did Doug actually paint her fireplace?? What an ignorant asshole! He needs to be booted off the show. What a pansy-ass. TS isn’t all that great huh. I didn’t like the blue everywhere either and the glass was obnoxious. Her stuff isn’t craptastic I think it’s cool! Everyone has a room in their house where you store all your crap so tell her not to be embarrassed. What a jerk for not listening to her about what she wanted done in the room. Bastard! I hope at least that you guys had fun. You 4 look like fun people to be around. Blessed Be!

That is EXACTLY how I picture Liberal, and to a lesser degree Bricker.

Hope I’m not too late bumping the thread, but I finally got to see the episode today and loved it. I agree that Doug did a hideous job (IMHO) but I really liked your place. All four of you seem like you’re having a good time & really cool people.

I kept mentioning stuff to my fiance while I was watching. Please, tell us more about the behind-the-scenes stuff.

I finally saw this episode and agree with everybody else that your wife was great. Unfortunately, you made the experience look fun, so others may be encouraged to do it.
