Double-nosed Andean Tiger Hound - is this real?

I just came across this Wikipedia article about the Double-nosed Andean Tiger Hound. I have never heard of this. Something about the article looks like a hoax or a joke, but there is indeed a link to a BBC article with a picture (here.) Look at that hound! It does appear to have two noses. The Wikipedia article says it doesn’t actually have two noses, just a piece of skin dividing the two nostrils that makes it look like two. The BBC article, however, makes no mention of the fact.

What sayest thou about this dog?

I don’t know if it is real (although I suspect it is) but that would be a kickass dog to take on a city walk.

Q: What kind of dog is that?

A: He is just one of the more common forms of the Double-nosed Andean Tiger Hound.

I bet you could add some other descriptors in the name as well. “Intermediate weight, variageted, Double-nosed Bolivian Andean Tiger Hound.” would probably work too.
