Downtown Highrise Mystery

I do not know if this is true in other cities or not (I have not had a chance to check), but throughout downtown Dallas, on windows of many buildings 4 stories or taller or so… there are small stickers that look like a white circle with a black T in them. there does not seem to be much pattern to which windows have them and which don’t.

Does anyone know what these things mean?

Among friends at work, we have asked window washers, building maintenance, and anyone who would stand still for very long, and no one seems to know. Our best guess is that the “T” stands for tempered, and that it is a signal to the fire department to indicate which windows are best to go through in the even of a fire.

So what’s the story, and if we’re right, does that mean that they are supposed to go in the “T” windows, or avoid them?

Never seen that - although I’ve only been in a few buildings that tall. I can tell you that the Infomart, Reunion Tower and the Worldnet building at Beltline and the Tollway don’t have said stickers…
