Dr. Who finally coming to USA?

38?

It’s conversations like that one that make me wish for a Brit to Yank interpreter. They also make me realize that the Master’s new regeneration should be an American.

Doctor “But, you can’t be the Master. Your voice . . .”

Master “Yes, Doctor. I’ve regenerated as a ‘Yank’. You might prize the idiosyncracies of England. But for me, the sun has set on the British empire. I value smug superiority, and the drive to force your will on the rest of the world. What place celebrates those values more than the U S of A? Now then, which one of these Starbucks is actually my tardis?”

I got such a kick out of the Loony Toons movie with Brandon Frazier when the Daleks started running amuk with the other SF hardware. Got me remembering.

Like Pertwee the best, Baker second and probably McCoy third.

I truly loved the cheesey special effects. I mean some of the concepts put forward were truly brilliant and then a cardboard rock falls on the bad guy. But that was part of its charm for me - to appeal to your intellect on one level and mandate you should suspend all powers of rational disbelief on another.

It was (and hopefully is) wonderful.

Two years out. Your go.

John, Val, Pete: Petra, Patch, Jason, Joey, Freda: Patrick Troughton.

44?

Two years out.

…ummm, no go on the Blue Peter guys, but I’ll play!

Peter Davidson!

Billie Piper

How to explain this? Annoying teenage popstar who gained further repute by marrying a very annoying radio DJ? Alright I could be biased because I found her music annoying and because I harbour a dislike for Chris Evans (aforementioned DJ). Not being in the UK anymore it’s possible that they are now both the paragons of entertainment and not annoying in the slightest, but I’ll wait for someone in the UK to fill me in on that.

They’ve seperated. He’s not taking it well. She’s “romantically linked” to (ie shagging) Christopher Ecclestone.

Owl - reads the News of the World but only for the sport - honest

The wet vet?

Hmmm…

30?

…BINGO!!!

Your theory seems to be correct, within two years, but you got me spot on!

Ewww … the Doctor’s doing his assistant? That’s not right. (And no, it wasn’t right with Tom and Lalla either.)

Gah!! No, she is shagging the man that is playing him. Not the same thing at all. (Although if they act like lovers in the show, then I will be upset. On a related note, there is a lot of discussion going on that Susan can’t be his granddaughter because his is not attracted to any of the women on the show, besides perhaps, Romana. Also, that is not right for the part. Quite true, however perhaps it is simply that all of the women on the show are human, and not Galifrian, that explains the lack of attraction. After all, humans are a different species then him, as are Martians to us, and I have never been attracted to an Ice Warrior. Romana is of course the same species.

Of course, the race reprduces via the matrix, but perhaps Susan was conceived before that ever took place. After all the Doctor does look pretty old in his first incarnation. Wow, I have really veared off topic, sorry, but I had to get that out of my system.

Lela. Of the Sevateem!

Damn! - Now new reports say SciFi “passed” on Dr. Who.

See this link .

I hate NBC/Universal with all my heart. They have the nerve to show crap like Sliders which was a Dr. Who ripoff but they have aproblem with the real thing.

Better news: Q Magazine reviewed the new episodes and said “the much-hyped return of rickety sci-fí classic Doctor Who lives up to all expectations: it’s every bit as good as its mid-'70s heyday. Furthermore, this time around you don’t have to be a geek to enjoy it.” A very glowing review all in all.

Well it seems from reading Nonsuch’s link that the series itself is alive and well, and will begin showing in Canada in April. The fact that Sci Fi passed on it should merely be a delay. Hopefully it’ll get onto some other cable network and/or syndication.

The DELAY is what’s intolerable. People will be forced to find unsanctioned copies on the internet to slake their thirst for Dr. Who.

What little respect I had left for the Sci-Fi Channel is now gone for good. I shouldn’t have been surprised to learn that they are part of NBC.

How aboutm Jon Petwee & Jean Marsh?
