Dr Yan Xin

Does anybody know if this person is for real?

My coworker said that this guy can levitate, make a room hot when he is in there and cold when he leaves, he can heal injuries etc…

Any information on this guy?

Thanks

seems legit, he’s chums with many heads of state, and lectured @ harvard.

:dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious:

Let’s see this mug do the same thing, under controlled laboratory conditions.

Otherwise, I class him with all the phoney mediums & fortune-tellers that rip-off little old ladies for their life savings.

IMHO—

He claims mystic powers = He’s a bum, until proven otherwise!

Has he picked up the $10,000 cash Randi offers for doing this kind of thing under monitored conditions?

It would be worth way more than the money for the publicity.

Or does he just have some excuse for not trying…

hijack: What do you guys think would happen if he did pass the randi test & prove to the science world he was psychic?

Would someone that trly believes their powers have a disclaimer that goes:

“The information provided on the web site is public information. It is not meant to be used for diagnosis or precriptive purposes…or other duly licensed health care provider who understands your needs and direction…”

And besides, how can a guy with powers like that not be a superhero/villain?

And if you believe the OP, then tell your co-worker I have rock that can keep tigers away…

Rabid_Squirrel: Yan Xin, not everyone believes as you believe.

Yan Xin: My beliefs don’t require that they do

Yan Xin: My beliefs don’t require that they do…

What I believe is not based on what other people think of what I believe," he says, but on what I know to be true.

On what basis do you “know” this to be true? On what evidence?

Are you quoting Morpheus from The Matrix? Or was Morpheus quoting Yan Xin? I’m so confused.

Have you noticed that medical and legal threads on SDMB are full of exactly the same kind of disclaimer. Do you think all the posters who give great medical or legal advice don’t actually believe in their knowledge because they’re legally required to include a similar disclaimer? This is simply an acknowledgement of the litigious nature of society and has no bearing on the accuracy of the information on the site. I’m not going to bother to track down a link, but I think you’ll find similar disclaimers on mainstream medical sites too.

Note that I’m not saying I believe this person’s claims because I haven’t seen any scientific proof yet. I’m simply saying that to cast aspersions based on the fact that the site has standard legal boilerplate is silly.
