It’s been 3 days since the last update. I wonder if they’ve harvested drach’s liver for the black market?
Or maybe he’s just exhausted from too much local hooch (and cootch:D)?

The latter half of your post is closer to accurate and spotty internet access. I am hotspotting off of the phone of a very friendly local right now.
The final repaort:
It was awesome!
I can see where it may not be everyones cup of tea but I really liked it there.
Its hot and humid, coming out of the airport in manila I felt like I had been tackled by a wet wool blanket, and this was like 5am.
Much of what I saw of the country had a very similar look and feel to mexico. By american standards alot of it looks grubby and dilapidated. Its a poor country, so this comes with the territory.
Lots of exploring and puttering around manila. Ate tons of great food, visted the Dampa that was featured in the TV show “No Reservations”
Had one little “family/culture” challenge. Was supposed to have a big meet and greet with her family on a Thursday, but 1 aunt and a couple cousins were leaving town early Thursday so I am asked if we meet with a “few” of her family on wed.
Few in Tagalog is apparently how you say 14. I was far from thrilled considering I had volunteered to pay for lunch and hypothetically still had another family lunch date for tomorrow where I was expecting 12. 8 of those turned out to be repeats from Wed. The only saving grace was 3 of the 4 “new” folks were the ones I had been looking forward to meeting who turned out to be great conversation and everyone seemed awestruck that I seemed to chat so freely with them (aunt who owns like 12 businesses, her brother who is a manila police officer, and her 9 year old daughter).
Otherwise, had a great visit. Still been talking to her every other day or so since I got back. I have some financial things in limbo right now involving an inheritance, depending on how that unfolds I may go back again for longer before shooting for bringing her over here. Either way, I think she is a keeper and she seems to share that opinion of me.
You should regard family members having good jobs or owning successful businesses as being a particularly good omen. There will be less pressure on her to send money home. She will send money home; the only question is how much.
Alot of the extended family works for the aunt thus they tend to be exceptionally deferential to her. I think me interacting with her like a peer was a little intimidating to some of them.
