Dragon Age II: Now Playing

To add on to what Ferret Herder has said, some biotic powers (think “spells”) tracks nearby enemies and curves around obstacles, making them easier to hit with than with conventional weapons. Others just require plain line of sight to use or have such large area of effects that you can just forget and fire. Playing a biotic can be quite fun for the precision challenged too (like me!)

I’ve just started this game on the XBox and I’m enjoying it. I’m not reading this thread yet for fear of spoilers, but I have a question. I’ve managed to get a couple of crafting recipies, but I have no idea how to go about crafting. Is there somewhere I have to go or what?

Once you’ve talked to the crafters who are scattered around Kirkwall, you’ll get a crafting station in your house. Then you’ll need to find resource nodes, which are scattered around various locations in the game. As long as you have the recipe and have discovered the resources, you can use the station and buy as many of the potion/poison/rune as you want - unlike in the first game, resources aren’t depleted by crafting.

Thank you!

I just took DA2 out of my Favorites list in Steam. I’m not deleting it, but I haven’t played it in weeks and haven’t missed it. I’m somewhere in Act 2, and it’s just… soulless and non-motivating. I don’t have the sense that there’s a cool story I need to hear, and I don’t have the sense that I can write my own story.

So I’m done for now. Hope others don’t wind up in the same place.
