I just had a dream where the physics made "Star Trek look like your basic high school physics course, and I wondered - has anyone else had a dream where you woke up, and if only for a second you thought it sounded logical before you thought for a bit and said, “Hey, wait a minute…!”
In this dream, NASA had a reusable spacecraft tht had launched, but an astronaut got hurt and had bleeding, etc. during the mission. They had to get back to earth quickly, but while they were waiting to get in proper position, they patched him up and then - so his wounds wouldn’t get too bad - they froze them by putting him outside the ship. Without a spacesuit. Oh, they made sure to do it on the side of the earth away from the sun, so he wouldn’t be hurt by radiation, but… Yeah, that’s what I said after a moment. But, for a second when I woke up…
I had another once where I was with the Secret Service and foiling a plot to blow up the President’s plane. A plot by Southerners. On President Pierce’s life. In 1853. Yeah, he had a 1930s model Air Force One in 1853. After about 3 minutes of doing stuff after getting up, I turned to my dog and said, "Hey, wait a minute…!
What dreams have violated the laws of physics, historical facts, etc., for you. Obviously many do, but I’m talking really crazy.
Once I dreamt I could fly. I just had to lean into the air, and it would support me so I could lift my legs in the air and gently drift upwards. For some reason, there were guys with dogs looking for me, and it was nighttime.
In another dream, a friend and me had discovered a building that housed hundreds of kids being prepared to be sold off into slavery. I can’t remember how we did it, but we managed to free them (I distinctly remember the fire brigade helping. It was only when the building that housed the kids also doubled as the fire station that I realised I was dreaming. Very strange).
I’ve had anxiety dreams where I have to get to class, but the stairwells didn’t have landings. They turned, but the area that would have a landing was curved and only 3 inches wide.
Also the elevators had 6 or 12 doors, and they stopped on more than one floor at a time. The cafeteria was on the roof and accessed by a regular ladder nailed to the side of the building. The roof was so steep, to eat, you had to bring a small piece of 2X4 and nail it to the roof to keep you “up hill”
Last night, I was visiting some sort of aquarium which required you to bend over backwards and stick your head in the water in order to see the fish. It was pretty cool–until I realized that I was breathing underwater! I panicked a bit and tried to stand up…and found that I couldn’t move at all. Then, I woke up.
A few nights ago, I dreamt about a quasi-romantic interlude with President Clinton (still president in my dream) in the White House. We were watching the moon and stars under this enormous skylight (I’ve never been to the White House, so I have no idea if it has skylights or not…I’m guessing not) and I had my head in his lap. It all seemed perfectly lovely in the dream, but it creeped me out a bit when I woke up, especially given that I’m much closer in age to Monica Lewinsky than to Bill. At least there were no cigars involved!
