Drinking our urine

Ahh, now there’s something you don’t hear everyday, someone advocating the return to stone age culture.

We’ll soon see? You know something I don’t? Did you look into the eye of the earth goddess and have all revealed?

As far as I can tell hot water has been with us for some time, and sewage? I seem to recall it being around at least since the Romans. Or were they synthetic as well? They did use metals after all.

I take it you believe anti-biotics are a sham as well? designed for the sole purpose of fleecing the brainwashed out of their artificially obtained money? Hell those damn polio vaccines were probably designed to mutate viruses into the super viruses of today further lining the pockets of the charletains who masquerade as doctors.

Of course the subliminal voicings of channel X have been telling us what to think since the infernal box first pried it way from the abyss. Woe to all those who have heeded it’s sirens call. Bow to your false god electricity, all shall be clear in the coming days.

So go ahead, nestle your self into the arms of mother nature. I prefer to live past 35 with most of my teeth intact. My artificially produced nourisment coursing through my veins, cheating me out of the joy of spending my days foraging and gnawing on bark. Returning to my over turned log for a refreshing nights slumber in the welcoming damp earth. Awake to find tht some of natures other joyous creatures have recieved life giving sustanence by consuming my tribal brothers.

God! what have I cheated myself out of? The horror.

BTW THAT’S a rant.

Oh yea I forgot to ask, How exactly would someone make money by putting a meter on your wang?

I once read a quote (regrettably, I can’t recall where) from the current Dalai Lama. He was asked about his good health and longevity, and he reported that he drank a cup of his own urine every morning. I tried that. Once. I decided I didn’t want longevity that badly.

Oh Mr Ghandhi! This all started with the word ‘synthetic’. I didn’t advocate anything bar questioning the status quo of our comfy little lives and the outright dismissal of ‘old wisdom’ by modern (clears throat) day cynics like your good self. I don’t know what assumptions you’ve made of me but I’m a Stockbroker by trade and surrounded by more toys than most. Am I happy about that? Yes and No.Do I genuflect and kiss the ass of everything thats handed to cunsumers as ratified by science as you seem happy to do? No. Do I question the price of technology from the smallest to the largest ‘acheivement’. How can you not? Remember, Everything bites back
As for the ‘pisometer’, I didn’t spend too much time thinking about it, but the point being, if urine had major benefits over approved medicine then they (corporations) would have to charge for our own piss via a gauge, past that E.G., I shudder to think!

What makes me shudder is that an obviously intelligent person like yourself completely misses the fact that urine comes from your own body. Any chemicals that happen to be in it were coursing through your bloodstream mere hours before you decided to gulp the vile stuff back into yourself.

A body that eliminates such vital compounds surely is of poor design. Or from a evolutionary standpoint, far less likely to survive than one that simply retains the disease fighting factors.

For that matter, what is urine? What specific chemical(s) is this anti-biotic effect attributed to? Perhaps the evil drug companies could identify it and add it to their profit driven stockpiles.

This did not start over your use of the word synthetic. Rather, by your implying that all things modern were in some way tainted. Whenever I hear someone making claims of how technology has destroyed our lives, suggesting we should return to the “old ways”, living in the forest and drinking urine, My nutcase radar goes off.

It never ceases to amaze me how those who are skeptical of modern medicine will gulp down herbs, berries and even piss without a second thought. The “wisdom of the ancients” in my opinion, is no substitute for good clinical study.

I understand what you’re saying E. I shared an apartment with two med students for two years 'til their graduation. Validation is absolutely important. That is the whole basis for moving forward, however, the nature of urine and you rudimentary conclusion that it is expelled therefore it stinks (which a good bolognaise readily confirms) or that if its properties wern’t indifferent to our body then it wouldn’t bother expunging itself, doesn’t stand up to absolute scrutiny.
The very first drop of sustenance you received Evil was urine- amniotic fluid. Twenty litres of blood is filtered in the breast to produce one liter of milk (minus the carton) Your second drop delivered from filtered blood.
It’s an excess of vital minerals and vitamins so why ingest it again?
How long do you think minerals and particuarly vitamins remain effective in the body? An orange will lose much of its Vitamin C simply by cutting it.
Obviousley we could go on, and I enjoy your feedback ,but we might as well go and argue about something else now. I’m gonna watch some documentary on Alexander now and see what’s so great about this guy anyway.

Amnionic fluid provides no nutrients to the developing fetus let alone the first. It’s functions are:

A. Allows fetal movement needed for normal growth and development.

B. Cushions fetus against injury; provides protection from external trauma.

C. Maintains an even temperature.

D. Fetal lung maturation.

Yes, a fetus does swallow amniotic fluid that it urinates in during gestation. That hardly qualifies it as urine.

The primary scoursec of the fluid are:

A. Directly from maternal circulation (as demonstrated by the fact that maternal hydration affects amniotic fluid volume).

B. Diffusion through umbilical cord.

C. Diffusion through amnion; later through chorion frondosum (portion of chorion that develops into the fetal portion of the placenta).

D. Fluid from fetal lungs and skin.

E. Fetal urine.

As far as equating lactation to taking a leak, well that’s just silly. Nursing mothers seldom substitute urine for breast milk. Milk production is a specific mamallian adaptation intended to provide nutrients for their infants. It is not blood, filtered or otherwise. Most mammals cease intake within one year of birth. Most humans loose the ability to digest it as they age. All things that benefit infants do not have the same effect for adults.

What weight this adds to the theory that urine is good to drink, is beyond me. Speculating that it may contain benificial minerals does not acount for any anti-biotic effects. Doesn’t explain why my dog sprays it on everthing in sight either…

As far as I am concerned, the only evidence I need is that nature chose to place the pee shooter as far away from the food hole as possible. You won’t catch me sitting down to a meal of fresh “brown trouts” washed down with a warm glass of “morning trickle” any time soon.

As far as Alexander goes, maybe he wasn’t all that great, but I wouldn’t call someone who kicked as much ass as he did anything else. Not to his face anyway.
