drinking water

which is cleaner, healthier, and just overall better for you, new york city’s drinking water or boston’s drinking water?

Seeing as how all drinking water has to meet minimum safety standards established by the EPA (see the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974), I would wager that they are probably equally clean, healthy, etc.

Every municipality is required to publish a yearly water quality report. Here is a link to New York City’s. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/wsstate.html Here is Boston’s: http://www.bwsc.org/tab_menus/frameset4.htm . I would suggest comparing the two based how many times they list a violation of the EPA’s standards, if they do at all. At first glance, they both to appear to have had very occasional bacteria problems in certain areas, but not much else. It does look like one area in NYC might have some taste problems though.
