Drive by wheel alignment (automotive)

I was at the Toyota dealer to get an oil change and tire rotation. At the scheduling desk the manager showed me a diagram of my car and said the left front wheel toe-in was out of spec. Turns out you drive past some sensors that can read the tire alignment as you drive past without stopping. I looked at them later and they just looked like a box about 2’ square. Pretty neat.

The actual alignment on the machine was pretty close to the drive by quick check.
